Hands down, Gram and Dun has the best Chicken and Waffles. I hate to admit it, but I almost ate the entire plate if it weren’t for friends asking for bites. The waffle was crisp on the outside, and soft on the inside. And that huge amount of maple butter? I ate it. All of it. The fried chicken was super wonderful and I fell in love even more bite after bite. Every encounter at Gram and Dun, I’ve always been satisfied. The food is quite legit.
I must admit that I was hesitant about buying this bag of chips. I like chicken and I like waffles — even when they’re on the same plate. But together in one bite? Not sure, but I had to try this history-in-the-making chip.
I LOVE chips. It has and always will be my favorite snack. As a youngster, my favorite picture of myself was me hanging out at the dining room table with a big smile. Guess what was at the table. Five corn chips and a small glass of milk. It doesn’t get better than that.
When opening the bag, the fragrance of doughnuts came to mind. The smell was actually quite nice. There wasn’t anything unusual about the look. At first bite, the taste of maple syrup arrives instantly on the taste buds… then it is magically taken away and the taste of chicken hits.
I don’t think I would buy another bag. The taste wasn’t for me because if I were eating chicken and waffles, I would take a bite of waffle, and then a bite of chicken. Heck, I may even switch it up and take two bites of chicken and then a bite a waffle. When it comes to chips, I am more into the flavors of sour cream and onion; nacho; plain; cool ranch; taco; spicy nacho; cheddar and sour cream; cheese; loaded baked potato; chili cheese; bbq; sweet bbq; and pizza. Remember the Pizzeria chips? (I miss those.) At some point, I would like to try Lay’s two other flavors: Siracha and Cheesy Garlic Bread!
