Cheesecake Factory.

When going to the Cheesecake Factory, one or two things happen: I get the Luau Salad, and I never have room for cheesecake.  I know, I know, not enough room for cheesecake?  In some instances, cheesecake is ordered first.  🙂  Here’s a pic of the Luau:

The best.

My first time having this salad was in Hawaii and I got hooked.  Classic.

Friends that cook!

Inviting me for dinner, I knew my friend Amea would make something delicious.  She made a chicken white chili, cornbread, and I brought over some veggies and dill dip.  The chili was amazing:  perfectly seasoned, warm, and hearty.  An added bonus was the cornbread, and between Amea, Soloman, and me, it got demolished. It was great to eat, catch up, and laugh.  Good times!

Mmmmmmm.

Omg. Who put all that butter on my cornbread?

Unexpected warmth.

During the football season, I was invited to one of the Kansas City Chief’s game.  The game fell on one of the coldest days –the start of winter.  Despite the fun the atmosphere, and the sun shining, it was difficult, at times to stay warm during the tailgate. We had chorizo breakfast burritos, pan fried potatoes, fruit, chips, cookies, etc.   It was so good, but then another fellow tailgater asked if we wanted some homemade jumbalaya.  Of course, we jumped at the opportunity.

Shrimp, sausage, chicken… warmed us right up!

Tacos 4 Life.

I love Mexican food.  I love tacos.  So when my friends Emily and Jerry took me to Tacos Mexico in California, I knew it was a legit place; these guys know where to go!  The restaurant was small, service was quick, and they had video games such as Pac man against the wall!  Since we had a full day of eating ahead of us, I held back and only got three chicken tacos with cilantro and onion.  The corn tortillas were lightly crisp on the bottom –which was a lovely surprise.  Everything went well together and I could have eaten two more of these legit tacos.

Up close. I miss you.

Meat sweats for days.

During my trip to Cali, I had my fair share of Korean BBQ.  It was amazing!  These places are all-you-can eat, and I took full of advantage.  The menus are filled with all kinds of meats from Kobe beef to small intestines.  With the meat came all the ban chan (Korean side dishes) your heart desires.

Huntington Beach location!

My friends wanted to take me to Gen’s Korean BBQ in Huntington Beach.  This place was great and had such a fun environment.  The service was awesome and quick!  Besides the loads of sirloin, we also tried the following: Hawaiian steak, garlic chicken with jalepeno cheese sauce, pork belly, and bulgogi.  The ban chan was also good and I loved all the different flavors.  I would hit this place again during my next visit.

All the ban chan –Korean side dishes– we could eat! Never ending…

This place is awesome!

The Eldridge.

The Eldridge is not only a fabulous hotel in Lawrence, Kansas, but it also has a great happy hour and on Thursdays, it’s half off of martinis!  At this happy hour, we decided to get dinner as well.  I got the chicken club sandwich with fries.  The fries came out piping hot and were the best part of the meal.  The chicken sandwich came with bacon -which is always a good a combo!  It’s a chill environment and so fun.  We’ve been back since, and every time the food and drinks have been great!

Delish!  Yay for fries!
